History of art in the Eastern world spans thousands of years and covers a wide range of cultures:Indian, Chinese, and Japanese. 

Chinese art dates back thousands of years. Among the work is everything from the earliest stone-age sculptures through the many dynasty inspired art pieces, and on to modern times. Japanese art also dates back thousands of years with painting and ceramics being among the preferred forms. The art of India is often extravagant in nature. Other cultures including Korean, Tibetan, and Thai cultures are also represented the history of Eastern art. Also prominent in Eastern art history is the art of the Islamic cultures. Islamic art is often represented in the many arabesque designs that emphasize repeating pattern based on natural themes. The history of Eastern art is as diverse as the many cultures that it represents.
